About Claire
Claire Cassady Vaughn has spent over a decade working in independent day and boarding schools in recruitment, development, marketing, communications, and residential life in various senior administrative roles. Having worked at Saint Mary’s School in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Indian Springs School in Indian Springs, Alabama, Claire currently serves as the Assistant Head of School for Advancement at Advent Episcopal School in Birmingham, Alabama.
A native of Birmingham, Claire graduated from Advent Episcopal School. A recipient of the Cartter Scholarship (formerly Distinguished Scholarship Program), she attended the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. A four-year boarding student at Baylor, Claire was a dorm prefect, serving as head prefect her junior and senior year, a four-year member of the Red Circle, the Vice Chair of the Honor Council, and a Jim Pearce Leadership Trip participant. At Baylor, Claire was the recipient of the Alexander Guerry Award—an award presented to a senior who has contributed richly to the position of honor and right at Baylor.
Claire also holds a degree in Child Studies from Vanderbilt University, where she was selected as a Peabody College ENGAGE Scholar. “ENGAGE”, which stood for Early Notification of Guaranteed Admission for Graduate Education, was aimed at students with outstanding high school careers and a demonstrated commitment to graduate or professional school education.
In the Birmingham community, Claire serves on the Board of the Red Mountain Park Foundation, is a member of the Ballet Guild of Birmingham, and is also a member of the Junior League of Birmingham. Claire, her husband Wesley, and their golden retriever Diesel live in Crestwood North.
